Formation (2021)

Born out of friendship and fearless ambition, MOTHEM emerged from Copenhagen in 2021 as the brainchild of Simon Larsen and Christian “Haystack” Rasmussen. With a shared hunger to push boundaries, they welcomed Odense-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kasper “Cape” Traczyk in 2022 and completed the lineup with drummer Nichlas Olsson in 2023.

Blending raw power with intricate songwriting, MOTHEM caught the attention of Last Mile Records, signed in late 2023, and brought their vision to life with their debut album State of Decay — mixed and mastered by renowned metal producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios.

State of Decay (2023-2025)

MOTHEM released three singles in the spring of 2025 to precede their debut album. The first single — also the title track, State of Decay — was released on March 7. Purple Eyes followed on April 18, and Martyr was released on May 23. The full debut album, State of Decay, featuring 12 tracks, was released on all streaming platforms on July 11, 2025.
